Abstract:
An acetabular cup implant (100) comprises a part-spherical cup the rim (110) of which varies in height around the cup so as to define a recess (112) for location between the pubis and the ischium, a further recess (120) for location between the pubis and the ilium, and a further recess for location between the ilium and the ischium. The height of the cup varies symmetrically about a point on the rim, so that identical implants can be used for left and right hips.
