To provide a method and system for measuring histological images in order to supply clinical information regarding cancer tissue.
This is the method for measuring estrogen or progesterone receptor, comprising the step to identify pixel group indicating cell nuclei in the image of sample, and the step to derive hue and saturation ratio of the image. This image is thresholded by using those hue/saturation ratio and the identified stained cells, being determined from normalized mean saturation ratio and percentage of the stained cells. A method for measuring "C-erb-2" includes the step to calculate the measure between brightness/definition of cell boundary and brightness range around the cell boundary, and the step to compare this measure to comparative image associated with different value of "C-erb-2". A method for measuring vascular distribution includes the step to produce segmented images by thresholding of hue and saturation ratio, and the step to identify proximal pixel. The vascular distribution is determined from proximal pixel area associated with the vascular distribution shown as a fraction versus full image area.
