Abstract:
To provide a compound and a method for inhibiting enzymatic activity of histone deacetylase, and to provide a composition and a method for treating cell proliferative diseases and conditions.
Various compounds, for example, a benzensulfonylamino derivative to which an alkylphenyl ring substituted by a hydroxamic acid is bonded to the N position as a functional group, act as inhibitors of the histone deacetylase protein. In mice, treatment with such the inhibitors significantly decreases tumor weight and volume compared to the control.
