To provide a history recording device installed in an electronic instrument operating independently of a host instrument, particularly which contains no clock, and that is suitable to record information showing details of occurrence of an event and/or an abnormality in the electronic instrument as well as information on the occurrence time as history information.

The device comprises: a time acquisition means for acquiring the current absolute time from a clock included in a host instrument when an electronic instrument is connected to the host instrument; and an absolute time changing means for updating a count value of history information of an event/abnormality recorded in a history memory to the absolute time at the time of detecting an event and/or an abnormality according to a count value of a timer counter at the time of acquiring the absolute time and the above current absolute time.
