To provide a novel structure of a nail which can solve a problem that the nail becomes loose during use despite its principal part made of a plastic material, in the case that the nail made of a plastic material is used for sports shoes such as golf shoes.
This nail for use in sports shoes is formed out of a nail body made of a plastic material and a self-tapping screw 3 made of metal. The nail body 2 includes a flange-shaped portion 4 and a screw axis portion 5 which extends from one side of the portion 4 and on the outer periphery of which a screw is formed. An axial hole is formed through the portion 4 and portion 5, and a slit is formed so as to axially extend through the portion 5 to a free end of the axis portion 5. The self-tapping screw 3 is inserted into the axial hole to cut a thread therein and fixed to the nail body 2. The screw 3 is designed so as to push open the axis portion 5 radially outwardly when it is inserted into the axis hole.
