Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder for melt-installing a washer, the holder that enables melt-installation of washers regardless of the weld trace and that facilitates increase in the number of times of reusing washers as well as improvement in electric efficiency and workability.
SOLUTION: The holder 12 for melt-installing a washer is formed, at the tip end, with an engaging groove 12h opening toward the tip end, and also formed with a flat part 12b toward the base of the holder 12 from the back of the engaging groove 12h with a partition wall 12c in-between. For the purpose of tack-welding one point in the outer circumferential edge of a flat washer 16 as a melt-installing point on a metallic sheet for repair, the hole 16c of the flat washer 16 is engaged, at the inner circumferential edge 16a, with the engaging groove 12h, while a part situated in the upper part in the inner circumferential edge of the flat washer 16 is engaged with the flat part 12b. A welding current is supplied to the metallic sheet for repair, through the engaging groove 12h of the holder and a very short section of the flat washer 16, i.e., a section between the contact point of the inner circumferential edge 16a at the lowest end of the hole 16e of the flat washer 16 and the melt-installing point of the flat washer 16.
