PURPOSE: To ensure the positioning of the axial direction of a catheter with respect to a needle 16 by including a web in a hollow central part in the constitution of a specific hub, using this web as an elastic spring-like structure and aligning the hub and cannula, etc., with the axial direction then, executing permanent joining. CONSTITUTION: The holding device consists of the hub, i.e. a handle 11 formed of a polymer material, such as polycarbonate. The hub, i.e., the handle 11, has the hollow inside part 12 and this hollow inside forms a passage extending over the entire part of the hub 11. The center of the hollow inside 12 is provided with the web 13. This web extends inward from the hub 11 toward a central opening 12a. An elastic means 14 has the terminal part 15 furthest from the web 13 and the proximal part 11a of the hub 11. The needle, cannula or stylet 16 is disposed in the elastic means and is extended through the same. The space from the tip of the needle toward the end of the catheter is important. A recessed part 19 exists at the end 11b and extends to the circumference of the needle 16. This recessed part is disposed in order to house an adhesive, such as epoxy, for joining the needle 16 to the hub 11.
