To provide a holder for a sheet-shaped wiping material wherein the width of the wiping material can be made larger and a lateral slippage can be avoided, and moreover a cleaning work can be efficiently performed at high speeds without staining hands, leaving no un-cleaned area.
A slit 2 is formed in a block body 1, which is made of an elastic material and formed into an elongated shape so as to be gripped by one hand, in the longitudinal direction to hold therein a sheet-shaped wiping material. In the slit 2, a closing force is generated by the resilient force of the elastic material itself so that the wiping material can be held firmly. And at least one of the ends of the block body 1 is formed so as to taper off, and the interior angle θ of the tapering part is set within the range of 30°≤θ≤95°.
