To provide a holding device for supporting a parasol, etc., in a desired posture.

The holding device 1 for attaching the parasol to a fixed member 2 such as the top of a table includes: a fixing member 3 fastened and fixed to the fixed member 2 with a clamp bolt; a connection board 4 attached to the front surface of the fixing member 3; a cylinder 6 attached to the front surface 4a of the connection board 4; and a fastening bolt 5 for fastening and fixing these three members. Engagement projections 41-44 are concentrically formed around a bolt hole 4c on the front surface 4a of the connection board. An engagement hole 6d to be engaged with the engagement projections is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder 6. One of the engagement projections 41-44 is selected and fitted to the engagement hole 6d and, in such a state, the three members are fastened with the fastening bolt 5, so that the cylinder is fixed in each of postures 61-64, that is, the postures of vertical, horizontal and inclined in a front and rear direction, and thus the parasol to be inserted is supported in the corresponding posture.
