Title:
HOLDING FURNACE FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3074498
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To orderly execute the circulation without bringing molten metal into contact with the outer air by vertically forming a passage of the molten metal in a furnace wall to a U-shape and pumping the molten metal by supply/ exhaust of gas.
CONSTITUTION: A suction pipe 7 and a flow-out pipe 8 are vertically formed in a wall of a holding furnace and this upper part is connected to a connecting pipe 9. The lower end of the suction pipe 7 is opened into the holding furnace and the lower end of the flow-out pipe 8 is connected to a molten metal feeding pipe 10. At the time of reducing the pressure by exhausting gas from an inert gas supplying/exhausting hole 11 so as to control the molten metal surface level 19, the molten metal is caused to flow out to the suction pipe 7, connecting pipe 9, flow-out pipe 8 and molten metal feeding pipe 10 by the balance with the atmospheric pressure loaded onto the molten metal surface 20 in the holding furnace. As the molten metal is received and supplied into pipes embedded in the wall of the holding furnace without contacting with the air, the temp. drop of the molten metal can be prevented.
