Abstract:
Retaining head for safety ski binding comprises a support body (10) which is upwardly pivotable against spring force about a transverse axis out of a position of abutment against the ski (12), and two retaining arms (18, 20) which engage the sole of the ski boot laterally and are pivoted outwards in opposite directions about axes which extend vertically in the position of abutment of the support body. Between the retaining arms on the support body is a hold-down device (26) which engages the front or rear edge of the sole from above. The retaining arms pref. include jaws (28, 30) which extend in the longitudinal direction of the ski, with smooth surfaces (22, 24) engaging the sole laterally at acute angles to the longitudinal direction of the ski.
