Abstract:
To provide a holding material for an exhaust gas treatment device having excellent attachment performance and tensile strength and maintaining thickness equivalent to that of conventional one even when reducing organic binder amount.SOLUTION: A holding material 3 for an exhaust gas treatment device is disposed in a gap between an exhaust gas treatment body 1 and a casing 2 accommodating the exhaust gas treatment body. The holding material for the exhaust gas treatment device comprises a fiber assembly that includes inorganic fiber, natural fiber having an average fiber diameter of 0.01-2.00 μm and an organic binder, in which the content of the natural fiber relative to 100 pts.mass of the inorganic fiber is 0.20-3.00 pts.mass and the content of the organic binder relative to 100 pts.mass of the inorganic fiber is 0.02-2.50 pts.mass.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
