Abstract:
To provide a holding seal for catalytic converter capable of providing a sufficiently high initial surface pressure even if GBD is not set to a high value and also providing an excellent cost/performance ratio.
This holding seal material 4 for catalytic converter comprises ceramic fibers 6 aggregated in mat shape, and is disposed in a gap between the catalyst carrier 2 and a metal shell 3 covering the outer periphery of the catalyst carrier 2. The ceramic fibers 6 are formed in a spiral or wave structure.
