PURPOSE: To attain the accurate start and end of holding by sending continuously repetitively a holding signal when a radio telephone system applies holding for continuous transmission and stopping the transmission of the holding signal in releasing the holding thereby restarting th talking.
CONSTITUTION: In applying holding request by the depression of a holding button 11, a radio telephone system 10 turns off a voice circuit and starts the continous sending of a holding signal from a control circuit 12. A master equipment 20 turns off a voice circuit, a voice circuit switch 22 is switched to the position of a holding tone generating circuit 24 and the holding tone is sent to a talking party via a subscriber line 30. When a holding release button 17 is depressed and a hold release request comes, the radio telephone system 10 stops the sending of the holding tone signal, an LED 13 is distinguished to close transmission/reception voice circuit switches 14a, 14b, causing the voice circuit to be turned on and the normal talking processing is restored. A control circuit 21 of the master equipment 20 discriminates it the holding release when the holding signal is not continuously received to stop the sending of the holding tone, the transmission/reception voice circuit switches 22, 27 are switched to the position of transmitter-receivers 23, 28 to turn on the voice circuit and the normal talking processing is restored.
