To provide a hole making device which prevents a centering error when chucking a member from leading to a positioning error when making a hole and can make an accurate hole.

In the hole making device 10, after chucking the member W centered temporarily by a chucking tool 11, machining of the datum face 21 of the member W and making of the hole 20 are carried out simultaneously using cutting tools 12 and 13. Machining of the datum face 21 provides an accurately centered state, as a result, the hole 20 is made at a highly accurate position in relation to a machining datum 10a. This leads to the formation of the hole 20 at a place positioned accurately in relation to the datum face 21 for the given member W.
