This hollow airfoil 22 comprises a leading edge wall part 42, a plurality of cavities 40, one or the plurality of crossover ribs 46, a plurality of cooling openings 54, and a plurality of impingement holes 56. The cavities 40 are adjacent to the leading edge wall part 42, and arranged between the leading edge wall part 42 and a first rib 44. The crossover ribs 46 extend between the leading edge wall part 42 and the first rib 44, and at least one of the crossover ribs 46 is disposed between the pair of cavities 40. The cooling openings 54 are disposed in the leading edge wall part 42 to provide a passage capable of flowing a cooling air from the cavities 40. The impingement holes 56 are arranged in the first rib 44 to provide a passage capable of flowing the cooling air into the cavities 40. At least one of the impingement holes 56 is adjacent to one of the crossover ribs 46.
