Abstract:

To provide a hollow container which is excellent in gas barrier properties, enabling it to be used for containing carbonic acid beverages, etc., and also is excellent in mechanical strengths, such as stress crack resistance, and in clarity and resistances to heat and water.

This hollow container can be produced by using at least two kinds of polyester polymers through an injection molding or extrusion step, provided that the total carboxylic acid units in a composition for forming the hollow container comprises 80-99.0 mol% terephthalic acid units, 0.5-10 mol% phenylenedioxydiacetic acid units, and 0.5-10 mol% naphthalenedicarboxylic acid units.
