A cylindrical housing 11 is loaded with a plurality of hollow-fiber membrane bundles 16, 17 and the like covered with a protection net 15. A protection plate 20 composed of a flat plate 21 and a curved plate 22 is attached to the inside of the protection net 15 covering the membrane bundles 16 and 17. The protection plate 20 serves to reduce liquid pressure caused by the liquid flow through a liquid gateway 13, which gets rid of damage of the hollow-fiber membrane.
