Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact absorber and body upper part impact energy absorbing structure with the impact absorber integrated therein by differentiating reaction load generated by the friction coefficient of a surface material such as kraft paper laminated on the front and rear faces of a core material.
SOLUTION: A hollow impact absorber is a hybrid pipe 20 comprising a metallic foil core material 22 and a nonmetallic surface material 24 laminated on the front and rear faces of the core material 22, and formed by deforming the core material and the surface material continuously in uneven shape in an axial direction. The surface material 24 is formed of a material that can bring the dynamic friction coefficient of the surface material close to a static friction coefficient.
