PURPOSE: To obtain a hollow needle for guiding detaining pieces which has rectilinear advanceability, is low in insertion resistance and enables a user to easily carry out an operation to mount price tags, etc., and bundling operation to connect plural articles by providing the outside surface of the front end of a needle part with a pressure decreasing part formed to recede from an outside circumference.

CONSTITUTION: This hollow needle 1 is composed of the needle part 2 and a fixing body 3 disposed at the rear end of the needle part 2. The needle part 2 is formed by blanking a plate material consisting of a carbon tool steel to a prescribed shape, bending an intermediate part 2b to a cylindrical shape, forming a front end 2a of a semicircular shape at one end thereof and extending a flat planar fixing part 2c and a cutter part 2d formed to project from the end of this fixing part 2c at the other end. The pointed end 2e at the front end 2a exists on a center line 2f and is formed to a sharp pen point shape. The pressure decreasing part 4 is formed as a rugged surface in the part of this pen point shape. This pressure decreasing part 4 formes a hollow groove part and the area which comes into contact with fibers is decreased by this groove part.
