Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow product which prevents flash from generating inside and allows a fluid to easily and securely flow into the internal section mutually joined of a hollow member.
SOLUTION: A joining section 15 joined by a joining section 16 of a flange member 11 is formed by the spinning in a connection section 10c of the cylinder 10 of the catalyst converter and the joining section 15 formed by the spinning is joined through a friction welding to the joining section 16 of the flange member 11. Either the connection section 10c of the cylinder of the catalyst converter or the flange section members 11 is prolonged and formed so as to be placed inside both the joining sections 15, 16.
