PURPOSE: To manufacture an air bag, having an exhaust area, at a low cost by a method wherein an inflater mounting opening part is formed to the fabric on one side of the bag part, and a gas exhaust area formed with a false gauze texture having breathability is formed.

CONSTITUTION: The peripheral parts of a fabric 2 on the surface side and a fabric 3 on the back side of an air bag 1 are joined together at a joined singlet texture zone 4. An inflater mounting opening part 5 is formed in the central part of the fabric 2 on the surface side, and the periphery of the opening part 5 is reinforced with a reinforcing fabric 7 on which coating 9 is applied. Gas exhaust areas 6a and 6b, serving as a gas exhaust hole, formed with a false gauze texture are formed at sections on both sides of the opening part 5, and the false gauze texture is formed as a part of the fabric 2 on the surface side. This constitution eliminates an opening, at which the exhaust areas 6a and 6b are formed, and manufactures the air bag 1 at a low cost.
