To provide a hollow-woven base fabric for air bags which solves the problems of conventional hollow-woven air bags, particularly of the air leakage from the boundary between the bag part and the part that does not expand as a bag, when the air bag operates, as the attention is focused to the improvement in the pressure retention inside the bag.
The objective hollow-woven base fabric for the air bags is formed by linking a plurality of cloths to each other by the hollow-weaving and the air permeability at the boundary between the bag area (multilayered cloths) and the part which does not work as a bag (the part which does not expand as a bag, when the air bag operates (part A) and/or the part which does not expand as a bag, when the air bag operates (A) + the boundary part (part B)) is ≤0.25 1/cm/min under the pressure-different condition of 50 kPa.
