PURPOSE: To enable additional recording, erasing and re-recording in addition to recording and reconstructing of fixed information by providing a permanent recording area which records fixed information and an erasable/re-recordable area which records fluctuating information in a hologram recording medium.

CONSTITUTION: A disc-form hologram recording medium 6 has a permanent recording area 7 and an erasable/re-recordable area 8. To perform hologram recording of fluctuating information in the erasable/re-recordable area 8, a thermoplastic layer 13 is beforehand charged. Thence, the object light 23 including the recording light information transmitted through a screen 18 and reference light 24 are superposed and are radiated to the thermoplastic layer 13. When the thermoplastic layer is softened in this state, the information of the screen 18 is turned to hologram and is recorded. By radiating the reference light 24 to this hologram pattern, the reconstructed image is obtained on an image pickup element 5a. If the thermoplastic layer 13 is again softened sufficiently after it has been removed of its residual charge, the pattern may be erased.
