Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a hologram display which has a display part having sufficient resolution for reproducing the hologram diffraction image of a visible region.
CONSTITUTION: An electric field release type very small cold cathode device 34 having many emitter electrodes 38 is disposed on a rear surface plate 32 of the display part of the hologram display. Many anode electrodes 48 are disposed on a transparent conductive front surface plate 46 so as to face these emitter electrodes 38. These electrodes correspond to pixels. The emitter electrodes 38 are selected to release electrons by the input signals corresponding to the interference fringes of the hologram diffraction images. The anode electrodes 48 are excited by the electrons of the emitter electrodes 38 to induce a change in the reflectivity induced by the electron beams. The interference fringes are displayed by a change in the reflectivity of the anode electrodes 48.
