Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform the operation confirmation and the control operation without being restricted by a main body device by using a power line of a commercial AC power source as the communication medium to perform bidirectional communication between a TV receiver having a character signal generating means and household apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Based on the key signal of an input key device 14, a controller 13 supplies a code signal consisting of a corresponding apparatus name and control contents and a carrier signal to a code signal modulating circuit 17. The circuit 17 generates a modulated code signal obtained by amplitude modulating the carrier signal with the code signal. Since commercial AC power is led to an AC line 25 to which this modulated code is led out, the modulated code signal is superposed on the AC power. Meanwhile, a waveform shaping circuit 19 takes out only the modulated code of the apparatus side and supplies it to the controller 13, and the controller 13 generates a prescribed code from the modulated code and supplies it to a character signal generating circuit 12. The circuit 12 displays information from the apparatus side on a CRT 11 as characters.
