PURPOSE: To make it possible to turn circularly in a small space in a home elevator by providing a turning device to rotate a wheelchair in an elevator cage.

CONSTITUTION: A turning device 30 is installed to the bottom plate 23 of an elevator cage 20. The turning device 30 consists of a fixing base 31, a rotary drum 32, a turntable 33, and a frame 34, and it is installed to the bottom plate 23 through the frame 34, to drop the whole body in an opening of the bottom plate 23. In the turning device 30, a driving motor is built in, and the rotary drum 32 and the turntable 33 can be made rotatable. As a result, when a wheelchair CH is placed on the turntable 33, the wheelchair CH can be rotated on a pirot and the direction can be changed easily in a narrow space.
