To provide a convenient home information system for enabling a user to set and release an operation mode while staying in a living space such as a bedroom, an entrance, and a living room.
The home information system includes: a plurality of sensors 5 installed inside or outside a user's house; an information transmission terminal 1 for setting any sensor 5 of the plurality of sensors 5 as a monitor object according to operation modes (going-out mode, absence mode, and sleep mode); and terminal equipment 2 to 4 connected to the information transmission terminal 1, and set corresponding to any of the operation modes. The respective terminal equipment 2 to 4 are provided with display parts 2a to 4a for displaying the currently operating operation mode and operation parts 2b to 4b for switching the operation mode to the operation mode to which the terminal equipment corresponds.
