Abstract:
To provide a honeycomb filter not generating warpage in a porous silicon carbide member even if the voids of the porous silicon carbide member are made high, excellent in particulate collection efficiency and with reduced pressure loss.
The honeycomb filter comprises a ceramic block formed by bundling a plurality of porous silicon carbide members, wherein a large number of through-holes are parallelly arranged longitudinally through partition walls, through an adhesive layer and is constituted so that the partition walls partitioning the through-holes function as particle collecting filters. In this honeycomb filter, the standard deviation σ of the void size distribution of the porous silicon carbide members is not more than 0.2.
