To further enhance cleaning performance of fluid of a honeycomb filter.
A honeycomb filter 20 includes: two or more honeycomb segments 21 each including a plurality of porous partition portions 22 forming a plurality of cells each serving as a flow path of an exhaust gas and a trapping layer 24 formed on each of the partition portions 22 to trap solid components contained in the exhaust gas; and a bonding layer 27 for joining the two or more honeycomb segments together. The bonding layer 27 has a lower density in an end face region of the honeycomb filter 20 than in a central region of the honeycomb filter 20. The honeycomb segments 21 include: small cells 25 which are outlet cells of the fluid; and large cells 23 which are inlet cells of the fluid and have a larger opening area than the small cells 25. Preferably, the bonding layer 27 has a lower density in an upstream region of the honeycomb filter 20 than in a midstream region and a downstream region of the honeycomb filter 20, wherein the upstream region is located on an end face side on which the large cells 23 have openings.
