PURPOSE: To obtain a honeycomb-like ceramic body containing adsorptive zeolite excellent in adsorbing power, rigidity and durability by a method wherein a composition containing zeolite powder, an inorg. fiber selected from non-oxide, oxide and metal fibers and an inorg. binding agent is formed into a honeycomb- like shape and baked.
CONSTITUTION: A composition is formed consisting of a zeolite powder having the characteristics of an adsorbing function, at least one inorg. fiber selected from the group consisting of the non-oxide fiber such as carbon fiber, silicon carbide fiber, boron carbide fiber and boron nitride fiber, the oxide fiber such as potassium titanate fiber, zirconia fiber and alumina-boria-silica fiber and the metal fiber such as stainless steel fiber and steel fiber and an inorg. binding agent (e.g. colloidal silica). This composition is formed into a honeycomb-like shape and baked. As a result, a honeycomb-like ceramic body 1 containing an adsorptive zeolite suitable for the drying agent to produce a dry air can be produced.
