Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which is improved in thermal shock resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a honeycomb structure 100 which has a honeycomb body 10 having partition walls 1 which define and form a plurality of cells 2 extending from an inflow surface 11 as one end surface to an outflow end surface as the other end surface and a rectangular shape having four corners of the outer peripheral shape in the cross-section orthogonal to the extension direction of the cells 2 chamfered and a major diameter and a minor diameter, wherein the plurality of cells 2 are hexagonal cells 2a in which the shape in the cross-section orthogonal to the extension direction of the cells 2 is hexagonal and the hexagonal cells 2a are formed so that the angle formed by the longest diagonal in the hexagonal cells 2a and the long diameter L of the honeycomb body 10 is 0 to 6°.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
