Abstract:
To provide a honeycomb structure for an abradable angel wing.
An abradable honeycomb is integrally formed in a turbine nozzle seal flange for reducing leakage into a high temperature gas passage of a turbine by being engaged with a bucket angel wing. The honeycomb is integrally formed in the turbine nozzle seal flange by using a sinker EDM for directly sinking the honeycomb in a seal flange itself so that the honeycomb is an integral part of the seal flange. For repairing, the whole new honeycomb flange is formed on a turbine nozzle, and can be welded or brazed.
