Abstract:
To provide a honeycomb structure reduced in pressure loss with the elapse of time, hardly producing cracks in the edge part on its outflow side during regeneration and excellent in durability.
The honeycomb structure is configured so that the Young's modulus of a sealing part 7 in the edge part B on its outflow side is lower than that of the sealing part 7 in the edge part A on its inflow side, that is, the average cross-sectional area of the sealing part 7 on its outflow side is larger than that on its inflow side, the depth of the sealing part 7 on its outflow side is smaller than that on its inflow side and the porosity of the sealing part 7 on its outflow side is larger than that on its inflow side.
