Abstract:
To provide a honeycomb structure which has higher NOx purification ratio than heretofore.
The honeycomb structure is composed of a columnar honeycomb unit comprising zeolite and an inorganic binder, and in which a plurality of cells elongating from the first edge face to the second edge face are divided by a cell wall. The honeycomb unit includes zeolite of >250 g/L by apparent volume, zeolite is present at the central part in the thickness of the cell wall, and the ratio of the zeolite in the surface of the cell wall is higher than that of the central part in the thickness of the cell wall.
