Abstract:

To provide a honing head capable of uniformizing a machining amount in honing work.

The honing head 10 includes a head body 20 and grinding wheels 12 mounted to the head body 20 via grinding wheel tables and elastic members. A plurality of grinding wheels 12 are spaced out in an axial direction of the head body 20. When it is assumed that a length of a bore part 68 is L, a stroke of the honing head 10 is S, the number of grinding wheels 12 in the axial direction is n, and a length of the grinding wheel is T, a pitch P of the adjacent grinding wheels 12 is set to {(L-S-T)/(n-1)}<P<{(L-S+T)/(n-1)} and (P-T)<S<(P+T), providing the bore part having an uniform machining amount in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine.
