PURPOSE: To accurately in-feed honing sticks at the time of honing in a forced in-feed system forcibly in-feeding the honing sticks of a honing tool.

CONSTITUTION: The in-feed drive section 31 of a honing stick in-feed device 5 is provided with the first planetary gear mechanism 40 connected to a rotating main spindle 2, the second planetary gear mechanism 41 connected to the first planetary gear mechanism 40, a screw mechanism 42 connecting the planetary gear mechanism 41 and an in-feed shaft 30, and a drive controller 43 driving the second planetary gear mechanism 41. Since the screw mechanism 42 is arranged coaxially with the in-feed shaft 30, no rattle is generated at the junction of the screw mechanism 42 and in-feed shaft 30 due to deflection and biased abrasion even if the reaction from a work W is applied to a honing sticks 10 when the honing sticks 10 are expanded, and high honing stick expanding accuracy is secured.
