A grinding grain part 1 to which super abrasive grains are fixed and an abrasive gain layer 2 to which WA abrasive grains or GC abrasive grains are fixed are interlined and fitted in a stick bed 3. When a honing stick of this type is attached to a honing head, the honing stick is moved in a direction shown by an arrow mark. After the abrasive grain layer 1 to which the super abrasive grains are fixed makes contact with the inner surface of a cylinder liner, the abrasive grain layer 2 to which WA abrasive grains or the GC abrasive grains are fixed makes contact with the inner surface of a cylinder liner. In this honing stick, diamond abrasive grains or CBN grains are used as the super abrasive grains.
