To provide a hook and loop fastner whose base cloth is made of double cloth fabrics and whose interweaving elements are firmly fixed to base cloth and whose shape is stable.

This hook and loop fastner is made of double cloth fabrics in which right base cloth as well as reverse base cloth are woven in plain fabrics with warps 2 and wefts 3 in double picks. The threads for interweaving elements 7 are woven with loop shapes in such a way that they cross one warp 2 at the interval of several picks to left and right so that loop parts of the interweaving elements 6 are formed to projection on the surface. Between right basic cloth 4 and reverse base cloth 5, the warps, the wefts 3 and the threads made of resin melting with heat 8, whose melting point is lower than that 7 of those made of synthetic fiber for interweaving elements 8, are woven through so as to lie between. This hook and loop fastner is made by gluing right base cloth with reverse base cloth by melting threads which melt with heat and offers an agreeable touch since back coating is not applied to base cloth.
