This hook 1 retains an article main body 11 in a hanging condition by sandwiching a hanging subject between the hook 1 and the article main body 11, and is so formed that when a mounting position is changed, a clearance between the hook 1 and the article main body 11 is changed. By such a construction, the clearance between the hook 1 and the article main body 11 can be selectively widened and narrowed, therefore, the article main body 11 can be hanged even in a part having different width such as, for example, a wall plate and the strut of a stepladder.
