Abstract:
PURPOSE: To rationalize fuel injection control by accurately searching any difference of fuel characteristics including fuel viscosity, etc., inside a fuel system.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure sensor 47 for detecting fuel pressure is provided in a fuel pipe passage 4a leading from a fuel injection pump 1 to the fuel injection nozzle 4 of an engine 3. Pressure oscillation of fuel is calculated by a pressure controller (ECU) 71 based on the detected value of the pressure sensor 47 just after fuel is injected from the fuel injection nozzle 4. A fuel volumetric elastic rate is calculated by the ECU 71 based on the detected result of the pressure oscillation. A command value for fuel injection control is corrected by the ECU 71 based on the calculated result of the fuel volumetric elastic rate, and then the fuel injection pump 1 is driven and controlled based on the corrective command value. Therefore, the command value for the fuel injection control is appropriately corrected by reflecting the difference in fuel characteristics by the fuel volumetric elastic rate calculated based on the stable pressure oscillation, and thereby the fuel injection pump 1 is fairly subjected to injection control.
