To provide a horizontal electric compressor efficiently separating refrigerant gas and lubricating oil and improving cycle efficiency and reliability of the compressor.
In the horizontal electric compressor, delivery gas is led to delivered from an upper part higher than a rotation center of a motor 5 by installing a partition member 70 provided with an opening part 70a at the upper part higher than the motor rotation center between a compression mechanism part 4 and a motor 5. Consequently, since mixing of lubricating oil is reduced, separation of refrigerant gas and lubricating oil is not hindered, and thereby degradation of reliability of the compressor due to shortage of lubricating oil is prevented.
