To provide an on-vehicle horizontal hermetic compressor sucking lubricating oil from an oil suction pipe so that an oil level of the lubricating oil does not get lower than the oil suction pipe, even if a vehicle is tilted and thereby the compressor is tilted.
A sealed vessel 1 of the horizontal scroll compressor houses a compression mechanism part, and an electric motor part driving the compression mechanism part. In the horizontal scroll compressor, a movable shield object 12 or a movable resistance object is disposed to an upper refrigerant gas passage of a partition member partitioning the inside of the sealed vessel 1 into a space housing the compression mechanism part and the electric motor part, and a space having a discharge pipe 19 delivering the refrigerant discharged from the compression mechanism part to the outside.
