To provide a horizontal member for a wedge binding type scaffold, for facilitating detaching work from a column and attaching work to the column.
The horizontal member for a wedge binding type scaffold is fixed between a separation wall 221 separated in a radial direction of a column 2 from a circumferential surface 211 of each of a pair of columns 2 each provided with the circumferential surface and used when assembling the scaffold, and the circumferential surface 211, and is disposed between the pair of columns 2. The horizontal member includes a cylindrical member 4 having a part extended in a horizontal direction, and a wedge member 5 provided on each of both end sides of the cylindrical member 4 and inserted between the separation wall 211 and the circumferential surface 211. For the wedge member 5, the side of the circumferential surface 211 is in line contact with the circumferential surface 211 in an insertion direction, the side of the separation wall 221 is inclined toward the side of the circumferential surface 211 as approaching the downstream side in the insertion direction, and the wedge member is held between the circumferential surface 211 and the separation wall 221.
