To provide a horizontal scroll compressor free from damage to a bearing due to oil exhaustion or inferiority of lubrication to the bearing due to insufficient lubricating oil, and having high reliability.
In this compressor, an outer wall 21 covering a plate-shaped volute tooth 2a of a swivel scroll 2 and having a suction port 21a in an upper part from an oil reservoir 8 so as to oppose an end face 21b each other to an end face of a frame 3 is provided in an outer peripheral part in a base plate 1b of a stationary scroll 1. An axial direction space A between the end face 21b of the outer wall 21 of this stationary scroll 1 and an annular end face 20a of a recessed part 20 of the frame 3 is fine set over almost the total periphery so as to impede infiltration of oil into a compression mechanism part formed by the stationary scroll 1 and the swivel scroll 2.
