PURPOSE: To realize an intake side silencer for the low noise in the degree free from the complaint for the night operation in the vicinity of a private house, by installing an installation body at the center part which has the final conduit which communicates to an intake port and a separating conduit for the communication between the left and right specific noise absorbing pipes.
CONSTITUTION: A horizontal type silencer for a Roots' blower consists of an installation body 1 at the center part and the left and right noise absorbing pipes Y and Z. As for one noise absorbing pipe 1, the periphery of the first intake pipe 13 whose both the ends are opened is surrounded by an outer cylinder 11 through a sound absorbing member 24 and is allowed to communicate to a separate hole 5. As for the other noise absorbing pipe Z, the periphery of the second intake pipe 23 is surrounded by an outer cylinder 21 through a noise absorbing member 24, and is allowed to communicate to the separating hole 5. Further, as for the second noise absorbing pipe 23,the third intake pipe 25 whose both the ends are opened is formed into a turned-back meandering part, and a blower side pipe which communicates to the final conduit 2 is installed. Accordingly, the noise arresting passage is formed into a tuned-back meandering form, without increasing the degree of the projection of the noise absorbing pipes Y and Z, and even if noise reversely advances free from the discharge side, and the noise arresting action can be generated.
