This horizontal type accumulator is provided with a vessel formed with a housing space for housing the coolant, a flow-in port for flowing the coolant into the housing space, and a flow-out tube communicated with a gaseous area of the hosing space. This vessel is formed into the hollow structure long in the horizontal direction, and the flow-out tube is arranged in a nearly central part of the vessel. A baffle plate 20 for dividing the housing space 10 in the horizontal direction is arranged, and communication holes 21a and 21b for communicating adjacent spaces with each other are formed in an upper end and a lower end of the baffle plate 20. A baffle plate 22 for dividing the housing space 10 in the vertical direction is arranged in the vessel, and the baffle plate 22 is formed with a communication hole 23 for communicating an upper and a lower spaces with each other.
