PURPOSE: To improve the quality equal to or higher than a skilled technician and to improve a welding effect when an upper member and a lower member are joined together by the horizontal welding method
CONSTITUTION: When the welding and joining surfaces of the upper member 1 and the lower member 1 to be joined together are held at an almost parallel interval with a gradient, the lower opening surface parts of both members 1 and 2 are blocked up in the direction of a weld line by a backing plate 3, an end tab 4 is tack welded on the upper opening surface edge end of the lower member 2 and the interval between the welding and joining surfaces of both members 1 and 2 is welded by a welding torch 5, weld metal 6 does not flow out below and the upper member 1 and the lower member 2 are joined together.
