To prevent the backward move of a tape and cut down the pull-out resistance of the tape to reduce load upon putting the tape around an article to be bound in using a horticultural binding machine.

According to the binding machine 1, the tape T loaded in a tape magazine at the rear of a driver handle 2 is guided through a tape guide 6 to be pulled out from the front end of the tapeguide 6. On the inner wall surface of the tape guide 6, a plate spring 31 is set slantly downstream in a tape passage, and a nail 34 projecting toward the tape T is formed almost in the middle of the slant surface of the plate spring 31. On the part of the inner wall surface that counter to the plate spring 31, a projection (first projection 36) is formed to project toward the vicinity of the front end of the plate spring 31. The tape T is held between the front end of the plate spring 31 and the projection, and is made to come in contact with the nail 34 to give the tape T pull-back resistance, which prevents the backward move of the tape T.
