The method for manufacturing the hose having the wire reinforcing layer 18 by winding a wire W around an inner pipe 14 includes a process for forming a habit to the wire so as not to expand the wire to the outside in the diametric direction of the inner pipe. Preferably, the wire winding device 10 is equipped with a habit forming roller 48 for forming a habit to the wire so as not to expand the wire to the outside in the diametric direction of the inner pipe and the mandrel 12 which supports the inner pipe is passed through the center hole 22 of a rotary surface plate 20 while the rotary surface plate is rotated to wind the habit applied wire around the inner pipe supported by the mandrel.
